PFLAG Birmingham depends not only on your presence but also on your financial support. Your annual membership dues help support activities of both the local PFLAG Birmingham chapter and the national PFLAG organization. Support local activities include such projects as "Living In Limbo: Lesbians in the Deep South" at Birmingham Civil Rights Institute; Anytown Alabama, the youth prejudice-reduction summer program offered to high school students; the GLBT Youth Leadership Camp; the Magic City Choral Society; and Central Alabama Pride.

The national organization is very active, lobbying Congress and state legislatures for marriage equality, parenting rights, employment non-discrimination, safe schools and hate crimes legislation.
